Judging from the looks of those two behind the girl, I'd say they had a pretty ruff day LOL (sorry I just had to xDD)

More of my art!
What I saw first was that she was looking at a picture of herself, and the other picture is a picture of her and her ex-lover or some sorts. She is currently being consumed by the popularity contest that is so prevalent in her life, and the wolves are either two people who have been especially egging her on to become what she is, are two emotions now growing; Exaggerated self-worth, and greed. OR the wolves are her and her ex-lover from the past, disgusted and crushed that she's abandoning true love (She broke up with Ex-lover because they weren't popular and she wanted someone higher up to boost her self-esteem and popularity levels) and instead, shooting for things that can very easily ruin her.
I don't know, it also reminds me of this boy who I hate but love, and want to kill but kiss. It's this really complicated relationship. He broke up with me because I wasn't pretty, and now I want to rip his guts out, but then immediately make it better and snuggle. I feel like a super-stalker >///<
I recently found your work and love these pieces that are open for interpretation.
Here are two interpretations that I saw when I observed this piece:
The two wolves are old friends/lovers of the girl and care for her, to the point of being possessive. However, she has left both of them, at separate times, and now has become enchanted by a new guy. Both of her old lovers suspect that this new person will not treat their loved one like they still want to, and may be even be a danger to her. They are struggling to understand why she cannot see this, and how she is blinded by her attraction to this man. The two who care for her can only feel betrayed.
The locket that they girl holds contains two images. The one that lies discarded and in the shadows is a picture of her two brothers, one older than the other, shoulder to shoulder, smiling out at her. However, she no longer looks at this image of her family that cares for her and instead looks into the other half of the locket, which is a mirror. In it, she is impressed and satisfied with how she appears. Her brothers, looming behind her, watch helplessly as she becomes self absorbed. Her younger brother, the one at the top right, is angry at her for becoming this way, losing her kindness and generosity. Her older brother is angry as well, but also feels sadness as he doesn’t believe he can help his little sister. The color of the brothers’ blue eyes, juxtaposed with their sister’s orange eyes, further express the boundaries she’s created between herself and her family and how she views herself above them.
This was a fun piece to write about.
In the first instance I interpreted this as somebody falling in love with a person even though she is in a relationship with somebody else. The lonesome figure on the photograph that she is fixated on would be the "lucky" guy who is about to steal her heart. However, I am giving up on this interpretation on account of her glowing red eyes and that ominous smile on her face.
So, what I think could be happening here, is that the lonesome figure on the photograph is a former lover that she has not forgotten. It might look as though she loves and hates him at the same time. Perhaps she is plotting to exert some sort of revenge on him, and the figures in the background could be her angel/devil personae, both in agreement that blood must be shed (at least in the spiritual sense!)
Or it may be that the person in the picture she is so fixated on is none other than herself - meaning that she loves herself more than anybody else in the world. In this case, the figures in the background could represent former lovers who have been hurt by her ways.
And the moral of the story is: there's a reason I am not a psychotherapist.
I love how there are so many different possibilities for interpretation. If only I could write... I could do a synopsis for all of them. That would be fun! x3;
Hope I can make art viewed like this soon it's awesome!
Amazing wolf design!
But like just now that I noticed the wolves clothes, I took another interpretation: maybe they are the same two people on the picture she's looking.... People she trust and love but that, in reality, are like wolves ready to attack behind her back...
Lol I'm not good on interpretations but this is an amazing art piece! XD Thnks for sharing!
For me I think that the two werewolves are the girls parents, in the picture are her parents in their human forms and they feel betrayed because the girl seems more drawn towards their human forms rather than their true beastly side leaving them angry and feeling unaccepted by her .
Then, a more literal perspective is that she's some sort of werewolf gene carrier, she bit them, and now they're doomed to live as werewolves as their past corporate lives have been ruined by their new monstrous body shape.
Seriously, this is awesome. It leaves so much open to interpretation.
Oh man, that would be the most brutal kind of friendzone! Those guys can get as mad as they want, but she doesn't even acknowledge them xDD I also like the idea of her being a carrier, and all of her boyfriends are now cursed forever O_O
Great use of a little bit of color in greyscale--really brings out the menacing expressions of the wolves!
Hmm... my interpretation?
....My thought is a bit more abstract. She seems to be gazing at photos of one she loves very much... but love is complicated, and can be tangled to the point of being indistinguishable from more negative emotions like jealousy and hatred. Passion so strong it's primal.
Sometimes emotions become so strong, they feel like they have a mind (and body) of their own. Not to mention fight with each other sometimes! xDD
Amazing work as always, love the colors on this one ^^
Love especially those lineart details
